It’s gonna be a Carnival at RumFest this year!

For those that visited RumFest last year, you can’t fail to have noticed the amazing carnival vibe as you entered the main hall at Olympia.  It’s difficult to miss the loud soca music and the ladies and gents in full carnival costume after all!

Well this year, the plan is to go bigger and better, so we caught up with Kelly and Andrew, the driving force behind the brilliant Mas Band: Bacchanalia to ask them what RumFest meant to them and what they had in mind for this year’s party!

Kelly: "We have watched RumFest grow from strength to strength and we are delighted to be a part of it!  We have been at RumFest since its second year and last year, we 'created' a street carnival within the walls of Olympia.  This year, we are looking to create an even bigger one and bring a carnival atmosphere and vibe throughout the event - we will have lots of costumes and dancing, music and all the flavours of the Caribbean going on in the background.

We promote RumFest to the wider Caribbean diaspora where possible and Ian has extended the RumFest to include the Carnival Rum Experience among his yearly RumFest itinerary.  What with all the best rums in the world under one roof - where else would we be?!"

Indeed!  Rum and rhythm - great companions...
